ICFO – The Institute of Photonic Sciences is a research center based in Barcelona, Spain, devoted to research and education of the optical and photonic sciences, at the highest international level.

We offer training opportunities and PhD fellowships to students who wish to start a career in research in a photonics-related field at a top European institution. Relevant academic backgrounds include any of the scientific disciplines related to optics and photonics and their applications, including Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology.

The PhD Open Day @ ICFO is an excellent opportunity for the most talented and outstanding graduate students to learn more about our research and training programs, with a special focus on the doctoral degree studies and the several PhD positions available each year.

During the event, participants will have the opportunity to meet ICFO Group Leaders and the members of our research community, attend short talks given by the ICFO Group Leaders, visit our labs, and much more. Attendees may also take the opportunity to present themselves and discuss potentially available PhD-projects.
